  • Harmonic Points and Lines: A Projective Geometric Exercise

    WARNING: PROJECTIVE GEOMETRY MAY PUT HOLES IN YOUR BRAIN.  YOUR MIND MIGHT LEAK OUT – IF YOU WANT YOUR MIND IN YOUR BRAIN STOP READING NOW.

    Okay, here is a geometric exercise that I find very interesting (for some context about WHY it is interesting, look here).

      It is, however, more complicated than the previous one and will likely require you to actually take out a pencil (not a pen, please, and go for mechanical – 0.5mm lead… do it for me), a ruler, and unlined paper.

    HARMONIC POINTS – Phase 1

  • brain(s)

    my fingers are tapping to an unknown rhythm
    a sightless pattern just below consciousness
    feeding somewhere in the background of my eyes
    it swirls, dives, escalates, tumbles
    and words – my God, words! appear

    mysteries profuse my skin
    invisible knives punctuating reality
    letting the dreams out
    all the while
    tap tap tap
     
    and more: you, unquietly reaching
    impossibly leeching, receiving 
    growing dreams of my dreams
    with another blind seeming
    a different kind of feeding

    we, the complex together
    cradle each other now
    discovering pathways to ourselves
    shouting keys and rending walls
    loosing what we have found

  • Transformation exercise part 2

    Now, another challenge was proposed, to proceed to a third transposition inspired by Varela’s star cybernetics.

    My response:

    simplistic/complex —> multi-ordered simplexity 
    how to fix/how to engage —> ascripted re-presencing 
    compulsive mappings/flexible relations —> constructive deconstruction 
    textbook categorizations/situational phenomenologies —> second-order homeodynamics 
    control the universe through mapping/participate in the universe through walking its territory –>  co-construction of universe and self 
    dominant masculinist purposefulness/creatively shifting between feminine/masculine —> post-dual dynamics 
    shift power from the described to the describer/described and describer abdicate power to each other —> described as describer, describer as described 
    psychic inflation and self-magnification/psychic robustness and continuous self-recontextualization —> the fractal self 
    a grand pyramid with the advocate on top/a complex web with the advocate teleporting between nodes —> a-nodal/plen(r)um-nodal phase space 
    lacking poetic insights/poetry as rhythmic healing —> language as regenerative/dissociative capacity 
    lacking a feeling for the concrete/able to connect without abstraction through action —> recursive manifestation/abstraction 
    lacking embodiment of an aesthetic/able to create and shift between evolving aesthetics —> the aesthetics of aesthetics
